AHPN Post-election briefing to African Community Based Organisations

Introduction

Community Based Organisations [CBOs] in the UK will have to work with a different and challenging political, financial and policy landscape, with a coalition government. In the coming weeks, it is imperative that African CBOs work together to create an environment in which our vision of a collective and representative voice on matters of HIV, sexual health and well being of Africans living in the UK can flourish.

This briefing, in line with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) priority for the civil society, highlights the following key issues for sector:

  • The Big Society
  • Funding
  • Local involvement
  • Public services and contracting
  • Immigration
  • HIV and sexual health

Please download the document for further details on each of the above mentioned key issues.
