AHPN’s policy team is busy as ever as we start the New Year. In the next few months we will focus our effort on a number of different areas, and there’s a lot to look forward to as we prepare to launch a whole range of new reports, resources and materials.
NHS reform continues to dominate, and we’re constantly working to raise issues of importance to African communities in the debate. We will be publish new materials on changes to the NHS and how African communities can participate soon, as well as looking at the specific conditions that disproportionately affect African people.
In the Destination Unknown Campaign, we’re working on a report of our research in Immigration Removal Centres, an evaluation report of the campaign so far and other reports and resources. These should all be launched in March this year. Our faith campaign will also be launching new materials soon.
The Ffena network continues to go from strength to strength, and now has almost 200 members across the UK. Local Ffena groups have now selected their lead members, who will meet in London in February to plan the network’s activities for the coming year.
AHPN members can also look forward to continuing to receive all our policy briefs and consultations prepared exclusively for members. If you haven’t yet joined the network, make sure you do [LINK] to make sure you receive these valuable resources – here’s an example to whet your appetite [LINK]!
